Colourway: Green Ladies

This colourway was first introduced in my 2019 Scottish Myth & Folklore Advent Set as Day 19.

These solitary and rather dangerous ladies can change shape at will and are connected with rivers and waterfalls. Mention of the Green Ladies can be found in Wonder Tales From Scottish Myth and Legend by Donald A. Mackenzie, Forgotten Books. The tale there has a recurrent feature that can be found in many other stories found elsewhere (with witches and other magical beings instead of Green Ladies). In these the main character cleverly bests his foe by not mentioning the real name of all of his weapons, since doing so would make then powerless against his assailant.

All wool is hand dyed in single batches then washed and dried ready to be knit up into your own unique creation.

1 x 100g hank of Patsy: 100% Superwash Merino 8 ply DK weight wool for hand or machine knitting.

Each 100g hank is about 273 yards / 250 meters.

or

1 x 10g Mini Skein approx 27 yards / 25 meters

or

1 x 20g Mini Skein approx 54 yards / 50 meters

Gauge: 22 x 30 = 4 inches using 4mm / US 6 needles

Suitable for machine washing but hand washing is preferable. Dry flat.

While I have tried to capture the colours as best I can, please be aware colours may vary from those shown here.

Due to the nature of hand dyeing, colour saturation and placement may vary between different skeins of the same colourway. If you are using more than one to skein to complete your project I recommend alternating between the skeins for the best overall colour matching.

Ever had a wash load turn pink because of one tiny red sock? Although all wool has been washed thoroughly after dyeing, it is advisable to wash your creations separately the first time, in case any residual dye remains. The vibrancy of your wool will not be affected in the rare event that there is any run off. I don't expect the dyes to run, but I make mention out of caution as I would hate for my wool to be the 'red sock'!
