Colourway: I Shall Become a Grey Horse
This colourway was first introduced in my 2019 Scottish Myth & Folklore Advent Set as Day 1.
Sometimes just a sentence or even a few words in a book take my attention and the colourway name comes from a part in ‘Land of Green Mountains’ in Wonder Tales From Scottish Myth and Legend by Donald A. Mackenzie, Forgotten Books. Even out of context it is a magical phrase that I just love. This is a wonderful tale of magic table cloths, promised first borns, quests, castles and giants.
A grey filly is also featured in the story Battle of the Birds, which can be found in many collections, including Scottish Folk Tales, Lomond Books.
Both tales are well worth finding and both are packed with so many elements they could easily inspire a whole collection of colourways! All wool is hand dyed in single or small batches then washed and dried ready to be knit up into your own unique creation.
