Colourway: Red Moss
Red Moss is featured in many tales for its healing powers and in fact was widely used for such in real life. This particular inspiration came from ‘Princess of Land-under-Waves’ in Wonder Tales From Scottish Myth and Legend by Donald A. Mackenzie, Forgotten Books. It is a tale that includes a quest and one of many Scottish tales that feature the mythological Irish giant Finn McCool/Fionn mac Cumhaill and his band of Feans/Fianna. Finn is believed to be responsible for many of the geological features of both Scotland and Ireland.
This colourway was first introduced in my 2019 Scottish Myth & Folklore Advent Set as Day 16.
All wool is hand dyed in single or small batches then washed and dried ready to be knit up into your own unique creation.
1 x 100g hank of Choufunga: Superwash Merino sock weight wool – 75% merino wool and 25% nylon for hand or machine knitting. Beautifully soft merino with nylon for a bit of extra stretch and strength.
Each 100g hank is about 465 yards / 425 meters.
Suitable for machine washing but hand washing is preferable. Dry flat.
While I have tried to capture the colours as best I can, please be aware colours may vary from those shown here.
Due to the nature of hand dyeing, colour saturation and placement may vary between different skeins of the same colourway. If you are using more than one to skein to complete your project I recommend alternating between the skeins for the best overall colour matching.
